A Picture is Worth: Calatrava-Designed Hole in the Ground

An obvious curve in the skyscraper stigma is to build in the opposite direction of the box.  That meant to build a 7 story descending tower on the waterfront.  The intention is to show that building up is sustainable but building down is even more sustainable.  From an engineering point of view it makes more sense to build down, cost is less and the carbon footprint to build and to live in is also less.
